Summer Recruitment Graphics

Throughout my years on University Program Council, one of the most crucial components of every position I held was creating graphics for social media purposes. Each event produced by UPC needed graphics for all forms of social media (Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter) and it was up to the Public Relations team to create them. As Director of Public Relations, I helped the Public Relations team create more unity and cohesion by creating brand guidelines. The brand guidelines included specific fonts, colors and logo design. Because of these guidelines, it helped strengthen the brand of UPC and allowed it to be more recognizable when our followers were to see our posts.

The utilization of graphics were found to be more effective when posted in a timely manner. Because of this, I started implementing content calendars that allowed us to plan our graphics months in advance and properly promote the events. During my time as Director, I ensured we had a posting schedule made at the beginning of summer and properly advertised during peak times. Because of the hard work the public relations team did over the summer, the organization saw a record number of applications due to the promoting on social media. Also, during my time as director, the Instagram account gained over 1,000 followers in less than a year. A huge part of this was due to the strategic posting of giveaway’s during our most popular events.
