University Program Council - Leadership Callouts 2018 - 2019

University Program Council

Throughout my time at Auburn University, I was a part of the Public Relations committee on University Program Council, also know as Auburn UPC. This program is a student-led programming board. Auburn UPC is responsible for free, entertaining events that educate, empower, unify, and serve the Auburn student body.Through the Public Relations committee I developed and improved my skills in communication, advertising, promotion, digital/social media marketing as well as my hospitality skill set.

Freshmen year I served as committee member on Public Relations. I mostly helped capture each event Auburn UPC produced through photography or videography. Sophomore year I become the Financial Manager for the Public Relations Committee. Through this position, I attained a better understanding of the importance of budgeting money for social media/digital campaigns to help promote large scale events, such as Auburn Airwaves or Comedy on the Plains. Also, I began to develop skills for hosting and hospitality due to the various guests and artists Auburn UPC would bring in for specific events.

Junior and Senior year I became the director of the Public Relations Committee. This position specifically taught me the importance of recruiting members who can work well and efficiently with one another. Also, I developed stronger leadership skills by holding weekly meeting with the Public Relations leadership team and bi-weekly meetings with the Public Relations Committee. Overall, Auburn UPC helped shaped me into the leader I am today and will be forever grateful for everything this organization has taught me.
